1. EXCHANGE RATES AND MORTGAGES
Although the value of the pound against the Euro has dropped
over the last two years the good news is that the mortgage rates
in Spain have also been coming down just as they have been here
in the UK.
The value of the pound against the euro has fallen by around
10 percent make the cost of properties in pounds more expensive
but as mortgage rates in Spain have dropped by around one and
a half percent the pounds equivalent of repayments on a Spanish
mortgage will not have changed much.
For example a 50,000 euro mortgage 2 years ago over 25 years at
5.75 percent would have cost you around 314 euros or 196 pounds
per month. A 50,000 euro mortgage now over 25 years at 4.25
percent will cost you around 270 euros or 193 pounds per month.
Mortgage and exchange rates will fluctuate but waiting for rates
to change in your favour can be a bad idea as property prices in
Spain are still increasing at a much quicker rate.

2. EL CAMPELLO, NORTH OF ALICANTE
Our partners in Spain are always on the look out for new
developments and new areas to buy resale properties.
This month Keven has found an area just north of Alicante
called El Campello. After making arrangements with the local
