1. CUTTING TIES WITH THE UK
If you are considering moving to Spain, lock stock and barrel, you
may want to consider keeping a UK address. You may have already
heard that the British government is "cracking down on health
tourism" which means that if you have been living outside the UK
for more than 6 months you will not be entitled to treatment under
the NHS, even if you have a UK pension and have paid your NI
contributions. You will still be liable for inheritance tax on your
worldwide assets.

Not only could you be losing out on NHS treatment you could be
losing out on bank interest. Someone I know who has moved to Spain,
told his UK bank manager he was now living in Spain but was leaving
some money is his UK ISA account. A few months later he checked his
balance to find there had been no interest paid. After querying this
with the bank he was told that ISA interest can only be paid to UK
residents! So, if you are leaving for good, bear this in mind.

3. LOW RATE SPANISH MORTGAGES
The mortgage rates in the UK may be going up but the rates in Spain
are still going down! We can now arrange up to 70% mortgages over
10 to 20 years with repayments of only 3% This means that you can
borrow 100,000 euros (68,000 pounds) over 20 years with monthly
repayments of only 374 pounds. These mortgages are simple to
arrange, if you are employed all you need is your passport, P60 and
2 pay slips. For self employed you need a copy of your last tax
return and if you are retired you will need a copy of your pension
